Religious Pride
Buddy
Last night about midnight, my ex photo teacher's Rott mix passed away. Buddy, often called Buddha by myself for the love of belly rubs, was an abandoned puppy when Bruce found him and took him in. He had been abused and piece of his tongue knocked out. He was too often the man left behind when we went on road trips, but he seemed to enjoy it more that way and would eagerly greet whoever came home to him and head butt their leg or butt until his head or belly was rubbed.
Buddy died in Bruce's arms, a vow Bruce had made to him when he brought him home that he would never abandon him again. He took a last breath, deep and heavy, and sighed into a peaceful death.
Rest easy Buddha. You are loved. You are missed. We will never forget you.

The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle. (Anais Nin)
